  I'm giving the Davis Police Department 1 star because unlike some other cities in this Country, they do not investigate deaths at Sutter Hospital. I'm not sure what is more important, making sure deaths at our hospitals having no criminal negligence involved or whatever else the DPD had going on August 10th or any of the following days. I'm just told I need to pay a lawyer to get any information about my mother's death since Hospitals get to keep a lot confidential. There's no morgue at Sutter Hospital in Davis since people don't die there often. If a member of the Davis community dies at Sutter Hospital and it is unexpected, the police should invistigate it... otherwise how can anyone aging in Davis have any confidence in the quality of care givin currently everyone inside Davis Sutter has immunity from manslaughter, which is what is being investigated in Hollywood Florida over the unexpected deaths at a nursing facility this week. Davis, as usuall, has their priorities out of whack and my mother likely died early, 6 years into retirement due to this department's culture of not investigating any deaths within Sutter Hospital. I have called this police department three times, spoke to three seperate officers who have each become short tempered with me. Guess it's roid rage or something, I have no clue but I know steroid use likely goes un investigated out here too. Been in Davis since 1985, friend of my mother left DPD in the 90's so I'm not some clueless out of town person who just moved here like some of these DPD officers. Really not sure why I'm hearing everyday about the Hollywood Florida DA opening a criminal investigation over the unexpected deaths at a nursing home out there. It just seems like a retired cop had a mother at that same facility... It'd be nice to hear the Davis Police Cheifs opinion on this, and it would be better if I don't have to ask in a court room.

  We've had a few interactions with Davis PD and the officers have been very professional and quick to respond. The people who we had an honor to interact with at this Police Department are exceptional not in the direct line of work they do, which is emotionally and physically exhaustive and at times dangerous, but also as individuals and upstanding citizens of our community. We are grateful to have such a multi-skill police team work here in Davis!
